What I'm Reading

A Glimpse of the Eternal

Just now,
a sparrow lighted
on a pine bough
right outside
my bedroom window
and a puff of yellow pollen
flew away.

After Years

Today, from a distance, I saw you
walking away, and without a sound
the glittering face of a glacier
slid into the sea. An ancient oak
fell in the Cumberlands, holding only
a handful of leaves, and an old woman
scattering corn to her chickens looked up
for an instant. At the other side
of the galaxy, a star thirty-five times
the size of our own sun exploded
and vanished, leaving a small green spot
on the astronomer's retina
as he stood in the great open dome
of my heart with no one to tell.

The Wings of MAM

The Quadracci Pavilion at the Milwaukee Art Musuem, designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava brought MAM back to fame. And when you see these photos, it's not hard to understand why.

Horsetail Firefall - Another Reason to Believe the World is a Wonder

Horsetail Firefall: "

This photo was made by Rob Kroenert on February 18th 2010 in the Yosemite National Park. Every year during the month of February, the Horsetall Falls turn golden around sunset. Amazing.
