Oh! that Illustration!

The mischievousness in the lines and shapes of Colby Nichols can always bring me surprises and smiles.

Environmental-friendly Illustrations

I can't help fall in love with these clean and lovely illustrations by Julie McLaughlin, (visit her portfolio at
What Would Julie Draw?)
(cover for FFWD's activist issue focusing on corporate environmental responsibility)

These days, I try to have a sense of childish humor...
Reading, solitude, idleness, a soft and sedentary life, intercourse with women and young people, these are perilous paths for a young man, and these lead him constantly into danger.

I Miss New York

New York is nothing like Paris; it is nothing like London; and it is not Spokane multiplied by sixty, or Detroit multiplied by four. It is by all odds the loftiest of cities…

... Every facility is inadequate—the hospitals and schools and playgrounds are overcrowded, the express highways are feverish, the unimproved highways and bridges are bottlenecks; there is not enough air and not enough light, and there is usually either too much heat or too little. But the city makes up for its hazards and deficiencies by supplying its citizens with massive doses of a supplementary vitamin—the sense of belonging to something unique, cosmopolitan, mighty and unparalleled.

Chinese Speak Up

After the chaos in Paris and San Francisco during the Olympic Torch Relay, after the CNN anchor called the Chinese a bunch of "goons and thugs", after the foreign media (BBC, CNN, etc) has used false images to depict the violent protests in Tibet, the Chinese finally come together and speak up. Here is the April 9th protest in Paris against media bias and in support of the Beijing Olympic Games.
